Best Newborn Portrait Winner! | St. Louis Award Winning Children’s Photographer

I’m proud to announce that I am a Top Professional Award Recipient – again! Earlier this year I won Best Child Portrait for 2010 and this morning I got word that I won Best Newborn Portrait for 2010! You may remember sweet baby G from his newborn portrait session as well as from the opening page of the Yvonne Niemann Photography website.  I chose to enter this particular image for the photography contest because I just love how the foliage frames him and the richness of the portrait. I also think it’s a timeless piece of art that can easily be passed down through the generations. Thanks baby G for allowing me to capture this award winning portrait.

Today I’m…

Thanksgiving Thanks

Two days ago was my birthday and it’s always a time that I reflect on my life and how thankful I am with what I’ve been given, who has come into my life, who I’ve become and where I envision myself in the future. Here’s what came to mind…

I am SO fortunate to have such a loving husband and daughter who make me feel beautiful and appreciated every day of my life. I love the little songs that Lily sings to me and the thoughtful things that my husband does for me. It is so much appreciated and more than I ever thought I’d have. As my husband and I ate our French food and sipped wine next to the fireplace at Cafe Provencal on my birthday, I looked into his eyes and felt so grateful that I get to look into those eyes for the rest of our lives together. I’m excited to grow old with him. I know we have many adventures ahead of us and I’m excited for it all – the good and the bad. I know that I can get through anything with him by my side. As Lily sang me Happy Birthday, I tried to memorize that lil’ delicate voice of hers as I know it’ll change over time and I will always cherish these simple moments that mean more to me than anything money can buy. She’s becoming a lil’ lady and it’s so neat to see Michael and me in her. I’m SO grateful to have a daughter and to have the privilege to be a mom. It’s not something I take lightly.

Another family that I have now consists of all my clients. I’ve been so blessed to have a business in something that I’m so passionate about and I’m grateful for the clients that have come into my life. Each of you have enriched my life and it’s an honor to capture those cherished moments for you and your families. I’m excited to see where life takes each of you and I’m thankful to be welcomed into your lives at those special milestones. I have so many plans and goals for Yvonne Niemann Photography and I know that with a lot of hard work and dedication, my dreams can become reality.

I’m of course thankful for having a roof over my head, meals that fill my belly, my friends who have been there through thick and thin, my health, extended family, those who support me and help me with things pertaining to life, business, health, faith and even love.

I have much to be thankful for today. May I never forget or take it for granted.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Let it Snow! | Maryland Heights Baby Photographer

Yesterday afternoon baby L graduated from the Baby’s First Year Program with Yvonne Niemann Photography. It’s been a pleasure watching him grow from three months to now! The first time I met him, I knew we’d be great friends – after all we share the same birthday – November 23rd! He has the most amazing blue eyes and is full of personality. Leaving L’s house today I heard his voice as he crawled towards me and I realized that I won’t be hearing that sound again. His daddy got a great opportunity being transferred to Cincinnati and although I’m very happy for them, I’m a bit sad too. I’ll miss them dearly, but I know lil’ L will have a blast living close to his grandparents and making new friends! He has some great parents to guide him through life and I’m sure he’ll show his parents a few things or two himself! Enjoy the sneak peek and have a safe move this weekend. Perhaps we’ll get some real snow soon! xoxo
